Today's Kickstarter
Wednesday doesn't feature an indie game, or even Kickstarter for that
matter.
Today's focus is Super
Pixel Bros' hilarious 8-Bit comedy, The Hit Squad, the world's first
8-Bit feature film.
The Hit Squad follows
the escapades of washed up 80s band-mates Roddy Stones, Frank Miller
and Charles Whitecastle. Think This is Spinal Tap crossed
with South Park,
featuring Lemmy from Motorhead. Then
combine that with a love of
video games and you have one of the funniest shows on YouTube.
So
what's the next logical step for a gaming web series? Make a movie,
and crank up the epicness to the max!
Over
recent months, Kickstarter has grown in popularity. We've seen superb
looking indie games like Ravaged and Storybricks all take to
Kickstarter in a bid to secure funding for their respective projects.
Super
Pixel Bros have taken a similar route to make their dream a reality
by teaming with IndieGoGo,
a similar fund raising website to Kickstarter that will allow them to
raise the money needed to write and produce The Hit Squad movie.
As
of right now, the
campaign sits at $6,846 out of $25,000 with 19 days on the clock.
If
you're a fan of adult-cartoon comedy, the likes of South Park and
Family Guy, then be sure to check out the Super Pixel Bros YouTube
channel. I guarantee you'll be laughing your socks off within
minutes. Then, if you deem it funny, head on over to the
IndieGoGo page and show some gaming love for The Hit Squad movie.
