Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation For PSVita?

NeoGAF poster has claimed to have received the next copy of Game Informer which, they assert, has a lot of details on an Assassin's Creed title for the Playstation Vita.

The new Assassin's Creed features a female assassin named Aveline that a quick Google search (of 'name origins Aveline') will suggest a Germanic origin, meaning 'bird'. Aveline will be mentored by an escaped slave known as Agate - /BeginNerdOut research will suggest common recurring mythology connecting Agate, a type of quartz, with honesty and truth as well as remaining clam and increasing perception. Perhaps this is an early indicator of the mentor assassin's character, or perhaps it is merely incidental, however the themes of truth and an inner calmness have been common throughout the Assassin's Creed series /EndNerdOut - who is the head of the Assassin's in New Orleans at the time of the 'Big Easy', circa 1765-1780.

In a similar fashion to all the previous Assassin's Creed games, there is an emphasis on the mixing of cultures; the protagonist is of mixed parentage, French and African-American, with New Orleans itself being a cultural mixing pot.

AC3: Liberation will not connect to Desmond and is, instead a piece of propaganda put out by Abstergo with a different controller in the Animus. The game is said to be developed by Ubisoft Sofia and will explore a grey area in the conflict between the Assassin's and the Templars.

Due to the time-period chosen, between the French and Indian Wars, it is likely that Aveline will come into contact with Connor, although it is not clear as to the extent to which the games will be twinned.

In terms of gameplay, several interesting features are mentioned, including the fact that wildlife will display behavioural patterns such as waiting on the banks of rivers or lurking in the murky waters. This is not new to gaming with Metal Gear Solid 3 and the most recent Elder Scrolls, as well as a few other games having placed an emphasis on the behaviour of living creatures in the world.

New weapons mentioned are the sugar cane machete, pistols, muskets and grenades. Hopefully we will also get a chance to test out some of the earlier rifles; essentially just muskets with rifled barrels.

If the report is true, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation will be released on October 30; the same day as Assassin's Creed 3.
