UPDATED: Square Enix Launch App to Cyber-bully Girls With 'Small tits'

In the past few hours I've learned two things: 1) I spend way too much time on Photoshop and 2) The PR behind Hitman: Absolution is seemingly made up of sexist, non-intelligent morons.

Square Enix have launched an app to promote Hitman: Absolution. The app in question 'jokingly' puts out a hit on your Facebook friends. Why would you want to do that? According to the app, it could be because they are 'rubbish at gaming', seeing as they're girls ... But how would one go about identifying the target? Well, she's got 'small tits' and 'bad hair'.

In short: If you're a guy, you can cyber-bully women.

What … the … fuck?

It was only a few months ago that Square came under fire because of a Hitman video that made the act of beating women, sexy. Now, following a host of bad review scores, Square are back to tell women just how shit they really are.

Why?

All publicity is good publicity, even if it's bad. Square don't care that what they're doing is not only sexist, but it's down-right sick, so long as people buy Hitman: Absolution. Who cares if we pick on girls who have 'small tits' am I right fellas?

I don't know whether Square are trying to bury Hitman, or if they foolishly think this is a good idea. In an industry where sexism is only just starting to be tackled, PR marketing like this take us back to 1982; a time when gaming was boy's only club and girls had cooties.

It's baffling. Absolutely baffling.

Recently, we've seen PR campaigns that had giant Dovahkiins take centre stage in videogame stores, we've seen tekken fans getting tattooed, and now, an app where we can pretend to take out a hit on 'small tits'...

Who keeps coming up with these ideas?

Update: It appears as though Square Enix have pulled the offending app from the Hitman homepage.
